This evening, 10 members and 5 community members spent their evening recertifying their CPR certification. CPR or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation – is an emergency lifesaving procedure performed when the heart stops beating. Immediate CPR can double or triple chances of survival after cardiac arrest. Other topics covered were AEDs, adult, child, and infant choking along with special considerations such as pregnancy and opioid overdose. These skills are vital to learn, and we are proud to have 95% of our active personnel certified. We are also proud to report that each of our apparatus has an AED ensuring quick and efficient deployment for sudden cardiac arrest emergencies. If you or anyone you know would be interested in being CPR certified, please reach out to us!
