GAME COMMISSION GATE 60-05
Company 13 Fire & EMS was dispatched for a specialized rescue for a lost person on Fire Tower Road at Game Commission Gate 60-05. It was reported that the male is in the woods looking around the area for a future hunting spot and is now lost. Chief 13, Utility 13, Brush 13, and Ambulance 13-1 responded. The male's vehicle was found at Game Commission Gate 60-10. Using the What3Words app that the 911 call produced, it narrowed his location. Utility 13 proceeded down the gated roadway periodically utilizing our siren and speaking directly with the individual on the phone. Between the coordinated efforts of the 13 Fire & EMS crew and Centre County 911, the male was successfully rescued and transported back to his vehicle within 1 hour of dispatch. Company 13 operated with 5 volunteers and 2 EMS personnel.
The Mountain Top Fire Co recommends anyone going into the woods should be prepared with a minimum, phone mapping apps, a compass and a small cell phone charger. |
