Engine Rescue 13 along with Ambulance 13 dispatched to assist the Columbia Volunteer Fire Company with a working dwelling fire. Captain 11-1 and Chief 13-3 were the first arriving, confirming no entrapment and made entry to find the seat of the fire. Fire was found in the kitchen area in the ceiling. Engine Rescue 13 arrived on scene simultaneously as Engine 22-1. Engine Rescue laid a driveway line, supplied ourselves and Engine 22-1 by the tanker shuttle on Drane Hwy and deployed an 1 3/4 attack line in the front door and began fire suppression while Engine 22-1 deployed an attack line to side “C.” Crews then performed overhaul. EMS transported one to the hospital for evaluation. Company 13 operated on scene for approximately 2 hours with 7 volunteers and 4 EMS personnel.
